Privacy Policy

LampControl is a macOS menu-bar app to control smart lamps (Philips Hue, LIFX, Govee, Yeelight, Tuya / Smart Life). This policy describes the data processed by the app and by the lampcontrol.app website.

1. Data controller

2. Core principle: no collection from the app

LampControl is a 100% local application. It contains no analytics, no third-party trackers, no automatic crash reporting, and sends no usage data to Hugo Informatique or any third-party service.

3. Data processed locally on your Mac

Lamp credentials and API keys (Hue, LIFX, Govee, Yeelight, Tuya) are stored in the macOS Keychain, encrypted by the system.
Preferences and configuration (groups, scenes, automations, added lamps) are stored locally in macOS user preferences.
Premium license key is stored locally after activation. No server ping is performed afterwards.

None of this data leaves your Mac.

4. Network communications performed by the app

Lamp manufacturer APIs: to control your lamps, the app communicates directly with the manufacturers' servers or local bridges (Philips, LIFX, Govee, Yeelight, Tuya). These exchanges are governed by the privacy policies of those third parties.
Update checks (Sparkle): the app periodically queries an appcast file hosted on GitHub to detect new versions. This request reveals your IP address and the installed version to the host (GitHub).

5. Premium purchase via Lemon Squeezy

The Premium license purchase (EUR 5.99 lifetime) is processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC), acting as Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy collects the information required for payment and invoicing: name, email, billing address, payment information, IP address. Hugo Informatique only receives the information needed to issue the license (email, order ID).

6. Website lampcontrol.app

The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics. GitHub keeps server logs (including IP address) according to its own policy: GitHub Privacy Statement.

7. Retention

Local data (Keychain, preferences): kept as long as the app is installed.
Lemon Squeezy billing data: per Lemon Squeezy's policy and accounting obligations (10 years in France).

8. Your rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection. To exercise these rights on data held by Hugo Informatique: contact@hugoinformatique.fr.

For data held by Lemon Squeezy, contact them directly. You may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL) or your local supervisory authority.

9. Changes

This policy may be updated. The date at the top reflects the latest change. Material changes will be announced on the home page.
