2. Scope
These terms govern the use of the LampControl macOS application and the purchase of the Premium license. Installing or using the app constitutes acceptance of these terms.
3. License
3.1 Free version
The free version allows control of up to 2 lamps with basic features. It is provided free of charge.
3.2 Premium license
The Premium license is a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual (“lifetime”) license, sold for a one-time price of EUR 5.99 (incl. VAT). It unlocks unlimited lamps, groups, custom scenes, automations and adaptive lighting.
The license is for personal use. Any redistribution, resale, rental or unauthorized modification of the software is prohibited.
4. Purchase and payment
Premium purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, acting as Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy handles payment, invoicing, applicable VAT and delivery of the license key by email.
Lemon Squeezy terms: Terms of Service.
5. Refund policy
Premium licenses deliver digital content immediately upon purchase. Under EU law, by activating the license you expressly waive your right of withdrawal as the digital content has begun to be supplied (Consumer Code, art. L.221-28).
If the license has not yet been activated, a refund request may be sent to contact@hugoinformatique.fr within 14 days of purchase.
6. Updates
Free updates are distributed via Sparkle and GitHub Releases. Hugo Informatique does not guarantee any specific update frequency or schedule.
7. System requirements
LampControl requires macOS 13 (Ventura) or later. Compatibility with lamps depends on the public APIs provided by their manufacturers and may evolve outside of our control.
8. Warranty and liability
The application is provided “as is”. Hugo Informatique makes reasonable efforts to ensure proper operation, but does not warrant uninterrupted or defect-free service.
To the extent permitted by law, Hugo Informatique shall not be liable for indirect damages (data loss, loss of use, smart-lamp failures, incompatibilities resulting from a third-party API change). Total liability is capped at the amount paid for the Premium license.
Statutory consumer warranties of conformity (French Consumer Code, art. L.217-3 et seq.) and against latent defects (French Civil Code, art. 1641 et seq.) remain applicable to eligible buyers.
9. Intellectual property
LampControl, its source code, design and content are the property of Hugo Informatique,
subject to the open-source dependencies it uses (Sparkle and others, listed in the
Package.resolved file in the repository). Philips Hue, LIFX, Govee, Yeelight
and Tuya are trademarks of their respective owners.
10. Personal data
The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Termination
You may uninstall the app at any time. Hugo Informatique reserves the right to terminate a license in case of clear breach of these terms (redistribution, key sharing, license bypass).
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties shall first attempt an amicable resolution. Failing that, the French courts shall have jurisdiction, subject to the procedural rules applicable to consumers.
Pursuant to art. L.612-1 of the French Consumer Code, consumers may use a free consumer mediator for amicable dispute resolution.
13. Changes
Hugo Informatique reserves the right to update these terms. The applicable terms are those in force at the time of license purchase.
